Ruud Schuurman

Ruud Schuurman graduated in 1993 as director, at the Film Academy. In 2001 he completed the Script Development Programme at the Binger Institute.
 
Ruud directed several successful TV series such as WESTENWIND and IC, the comedy series DE AFDELING and the youth series HOTNEWS.NL.In autumn 2007 he directed the sketch for the VPRO program DRAADSTAAL. In 2009 he directed the 9-part series FLOW, about the Dutch Hip Hop scene which was broadcast by NPS. 
 
Together with Tjebbo Penning Ruud wrote the scenario of the feature film MORLANG (directed by Tjebbo Penning), for which he received a Gouden Kalf nomination in 2001. MORLANG also won prizes at international film festivals in Cairo and Houston and received a theatrical release in the United States. In 2006 Ruud wrote, together with Edward Stelder, the screenplay for the film IK OMHELS JE MET DUIZEND ARMEN (directed by Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen). This movie won two Gouden Kalveren). He is currently developing his newest project THE MASTERS.
